Rolling out the red carpet for the wonderful First Grade classes at Farmer Elementary....drumroll please!
At the end of every year, the First Grade classes present the annual Academy Awards as the first graders celebrate the end of the school year and get ready to Move On Up to the 2nd Grade hallway! Check out Collin stylin' before school.
With music playing and parents lined up on either side of the red carpet, the doors open for Collin Thomas! Check out his pose!
After walking the red carpet, we proceeded to his classroom for the Awards Ceremony and a class video of all the great things they did all year. Collin won the "Future Detective" Award for asking the Best Questions all year! Way to Go Collin! Collin has had a fabulous first grade year, and is reading like a champ. He has set a lofty goal for his summer reading program, and he is already excited about picking out books to read!
We also celebrated Daddy's 40th Birthday on Thursday! Momma might have planned a surprise birthday lunch after Collin's Awards Day at his office. He "tells" me that he didn't figure it out! He looks surprised, though! It was a fun lunch and he was smiling the whole time.
We ended the birthday evening with Sushi for dinner! Cooper decided he was ready to try sushi and loved it!
Check back again soon...the 4th Grade awards day is this Wednesday! The boys are very anxious for summer break...only five more days of school left. Yay!
As handsome as Collin looks in his suit, I'm going to have to start calling him my little man instead of my little boy! It looks like all my men had a great day Thursday. Collin's smile shows what a fun year he had and how proud he is of his award. Andy's 40th year started out with loads of fun and we'll hope his whole year follows suit. And Cooper found a new favorite food (he looks WAY too grown up in this picture!). I hope Momma had as much fun as her men!
